Broadmoor head pro Mark Kelbel explains the basics of chipping: You need to have your hands ahead of the ball. Keep your weight forward. Make sure you are leaning towards your target. Keep your weight on your left side if you are a right handed golfer and on your right side if you are a left handed golfer. To keep your hands ahead of the ball...there should be a steep angle (about 45 degrees) in the shaft between your hands and the ball. This is easier to do if you play the ball back in your stance. Keep your weight forward and bump the ball
with a putting stroke, making sure the back of your leading hand is pointing
towards the target |
